Thanks guys. I've been looking for awhile and I wasn't going to miss out on this one. Get them while you can. So glad he's local. They are very cool to watch in a shoal especially during feeding. I plan to clear out the kois in the outdoor koi pond to stock barbs and tors. Lost all the tropicals last week due to the drop in temp. Guess San Diego winter is still too cold for non-cold water fish.
some day i needa get my tors a really long tank with tons of flow, imitating the himalayan or malaysian fast flowing river as best as i could .. and i think that'll bring out waaay color than keep it in a bare tank. i know malaysian tors eat "oil plum" or whatever that special fruit is called , doubt we can do that in a tank, but at least we can imitate the environment as good as we can

I got a 3000GPH Wave pump flowing through this 225g tank. They are always in the current and busting to the top nailing pellets. I'm meeting with the owner of Kodama Koi Farms this weekend. I'm going to pick his brain on color enhancing food. He gave me some black paste made with honey for kois but haven't tried it yet. Will let you know what I find. I think they close to koi right?
