My new pickup - GATF

Ahhhh, so excited. After having some uncertainty surrounding work and how far I'd be travelling daily, I had to sell my TATF. I was really bummed about it at the time, I wanted one for the longest time and didn't want to get rid of him. It was the right thing to do at the time, and I feel like I did right by him.

Fast forward to today, and everything has sorted itself out. I now have myself a nice, fat 6" GATF. According to the previous owner, he's already taking chopped raw shrimp - if he's taking non-live already, I'll be super happy. I've got him in a pretty high flow/current setup, combined is right around 8,000 gph. He seems to love it, he went straight into the rapid current part of the tank when I let him out of the net and has been hanging out in it since.

Crappy cell pictures are all I can do for now, i'll get some better pics up within the next few days hopefully. Obviously first pic is him before going into the new tank, second pic is him probably 15 seconds in the tank.

His tail is healing nicely. He's all alone in here, so I think his tail should be pretty much back to normal soon. I'll be sticking my L191 royal pleco in with him, also thinking about doing 5-6 silver dollars. I don't know how well silver dollars handle high flow, so I'll have to do some research on that before getting them.

Thanks! He's been getting chopped shrimp soaked in Vita Chem 2x a day so far. He charges at the Hikari food sticks when I put them in, but hasn't taken one yet. I'm going to try soaking the pellets in the shrimp tomorrow and see if he takes it that way.

Thanks for the heads up on the silver dollars, I'll definitely pick some up then. That was my main worry, them being able to handle the current in there.

Finally got some silver dollars in there with him, and I moved my L191 royal into the tank over the weekend. Couple of pics of the pleco and goliath hanging out, I didn't expect the royal to be so outgoing with a larger fish around. He's mainly been in with small tetras in the time I've had him.



Also a quick video my daughter took earlier with my phone, shows the GATF swimming right in the main part of the output of a Magnum 8 powerhead and 1500 gph canister spray bar. He's been going up to the top area and swimming like 3" away from the powerhead a lot lately, I'm impressed by the swimming power. I've noticed him moving around a whole lot more with the silver dollars in there, I'm glad I picked them up.
