An update: feeding the little guy is no longer a problem since my retics will only touch blackworms for now, whereas this little guy started chowing down on chopped nightcrawlers without a second thought so he's getting nice and fat.
Incidentally he's started some really odd behavior - once in a while he's swim up the side of the tank and start splashing at the surface (no biggie, my retics sometimes do that too...) but then he'll flip upside down and go zipping across the tank. Needless to say, I was a little worried at first but he seems to be perfectly healthy otherwise.
Also, I've noticed that he has some interesting patterning beside his spots - there are some black squiggles and strings of little semi-circles. Anyone else's rays have these? I'm hoping they're signs of future marbling, but they don't look right.
