3 and a 1/2 years old and 7.5 inches doesnt sound like it's growth rate is that far off. They should shoot up to 5-7 inches in the first year and then an inch a year....so if it had only reached 5ish the first year...and it's done a couple of inches since it'd be on pace for the normal growth rate

hope so.but there has been no growth since last 1 year. its the smallest of my 20 or so adult reds.
honestly i havnt seen all that much growth in any of the fish after 2 yrs.maybe a few centimeters,but not an inch a year. the oldest reds i have were bought in 2003-4.
i have heard the 1 inch /yr thing ,but i just have my doubts.
