Synspilum, blood parrot, texas cichlid would be some of the more common ones. They can hybridize with pretty much any central american cichlid.

ok another question lol
my midevil chases my synspilum around the tank alot but hardly ever chases the small jack dempsey
my jd is male and my syn is female i think
why is it picking on my syn?

Could very well be that the syns is getting pick on cause its similar size and the dempsey is too small to be seen as a threat. Try reducing your tanks temperature to around 75 or so to help lower aggression. Devils do have an attitude, it will help when you get a larger tank. Just keep your eye on them and if they get too bad them either get a divider or remove sombody.

yeah thanks! the syn and jd are not ready to be put in my bigger tank so im going to get a tank divider.

im going to get one of those "egg crate" plastic mesh things from Menards tonight. after i cut it down what is the best way to set it up in my tank?
