My new set up and five RBPs!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think i see 2 pacus...dont feel bad. that happened to me...go back to the LFS and be like this is a PACU mofo

ok since no one said it yet..

a 55 is gonna be too small to house them for life.. i hope you either plan to get rid of 2, or have another tank ready for them by the time they get a little bigger..

other than that.. nice tank.. throw a 6pack of hinneys in the middle to balance it out a bit :D

oh.. and goldfish are bad for piranhas.. they carry uberloads of disease and growth inhibiting hormones.. pellets are a much better food

The 55g will work as a grow out for awhile. However you will need to up grade your filtration. RBPs are very messy eaters, lots of uneaten perticles end up in the gravel, and will raise the ammonia levels to points that your current filtration will not be able to handle.

well 2 of them are pacu...so bring them back and that will solve a few problems for you...can you post more pics?

check out this thread and you'll see what we are talking about. It does look like you got at least one pacu though.

agreed.. i believe there to be atleast 1. i would bet theres 2. i kno they are young but the shape of the jaws on those 2 screams pacu.. i'd go back and get the RBp's.
if u plan to keep 3. i would that 55g should do for a year MAX. and if u plan to keep all 5. i"d plan on upgrading in 6 months. and def make sure u over filter ur tank. like it has been said before.. very messy eaters. lots food=lots growth.. also means lotsa fecal matter. cheers!!

i dont think any of them are pacu. i had my pacu since he was about 1 inch and he looked nothing like those. there not red belly pacus at least
