Nice sounds like progressSpartacus must be getting a taste for dif things. I put anther peice of krill in with him. He swam around it a couple times. The current of the filter made it move around a bit like a live bug. He mouthed it once then he took it and spit it out again. Never did eat the whole thing. I'm hoping to get him on freeze dried krill and pellets before long. I'll just keep working him until he eats it. Hope everyone is having a great day so far!!
The arowana should be a bit larger and over a foot because they are quite fragile when small and peacock should be 3-4 inches smaller and u need a big tankWhat's the thoughts in introducing a tank mate with my aro?
Been seeing a few pics of Aro's housed with peacock bass. Is this a good combo are the peacocks aggressive or how big should either be when first put together?
I got my aro for free as rescue but the guy who had it paid 25 for it when it was 4 inches from lfsSo Spartacus will be moving from his hospital tank, to his new 60g temporary tank Sunday to grow out a few more inches. Hopefully I'll have my 250g up and running before he outgrows the 60. His appetite has gotten stronger and more veracious this last week. Side note, I paid $24 from a lfs for my 3" silver (still had yolk sac). Today I went to a uncle bills store where they had a 4"-5" silver for $71!! I'm not sure if I got a good deal or uncle bills was just way over priced?

Before breeding convicts and jewels as feeders, I'd buy rosy/goldfish by the 100s and keep them in a 55g 'quarantine' tank for at least a month before introducing them into any other tank as feeders. I'd gut load the hell out of them as well. I hear that guppies are super easy to breed, I would try that with your aro. I see guppies all the time that are easily the size of rosy's.Spartacus has had his first rosy.. A very little rosy but non the less it's more of a meal than feeder guppies! It took him a little longer to figure out how to catch this speedy little fish. Compared to a guppie this minnow was a rocket lol.
Has anyone raised rosy's for feeders before?
