A really nice fish.

I still have one in my big tank.

One tip to perhaps try and prevent a bent up nose/mouth injury is to leave a low wattage light bulb on in the room 24/7.
This way if startled, the ambient light might prevent it running in to the tank end.

Your gonna love that fish, I love mine. I find they don't feed as aggressively as other catfish, so I always try to feed him a bit when the lights are off. Ik they look skinny but they can inhale huge prey....

thanks guys il definitely keep you all update he is awesome so glad i finally got one, i had noticed he is a little slower at getting food so i just drop some massivore pellets a few mins after feeding and he gets them to himself, and thanks arapaimag for the advice sadly he had the bent nose when I got him but il do what you suggested to try stop it getting worse.

Did you get him from a UK shop/importer ? If so where.....I notice Pier Aquatics have a 10" specimen for £65.....

got him from the store I work in he was a re-home I dont think these guys can be legally imported anymore? so idk how they got one at 10inches. cant wait for mine to get to 5ft
