MY NEW SYNODONTIS ANGELICUS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im in hamilton. Ihave seen them cheaper too, at like 30 and 40 dollars. I shopped around for a bit and got a f1 @ 3+ inches for almost 60 with taxes. I would rather pay the little extra and get quality then pay less and get a diseased or unhealthy fish that might die or worse, infect my tanks. The ones I saw for cheap didnt look half as good as mine does. In my experience in fishkeeping, you dont question a high price, you question what you are getting for so cheap!!

I'm in oakville and i buy most of my fish from big Als, For the most part the fish are healthy with few exeptions, usually exotic puffers. The cichlids and catfish are generally very healthy

i have never seen a angelicus for 30 dollars at oakville. i am frequently in there to get supplies, and have become pretty good with the manager of fishroom. There are other syno species in oakville big als that you might have confused them with. Angelicus are different then others, more rare and sought after. If they charged me 25 dollars for 2inch multipunctatus, theres no way they would have 30 or 40 for angelicus at 3inches. I was recently there, when they had a "Tent sale" and my buddy(the manager) gave me 9 synodontis multipunctatus FRY for a little over 100 dollars. They were marked 15 each on the tank and were less then 1 inch long. Heres a video of when i got them home

And i do agree with you on Big al's. They do have good fish at pretty good prices. I know their prices though, they wouldnt charge anything less then 50 dollars for a syonodontis Angelicus.
You must have been mistaken.

If it was $50 I would snap it up immediately! I pay at least that for my Raphael Catfish.

The cheapest I have found is $450, but that was on the other side of the country or 2 for $1200 closer to where I live. Which I don't have that kind of money right now.
THATS INSANE!!! 450 dollars for a fish that doesnt spit out golden eggs every month or hundred dollar bills or something?? NO WAY!!! Lol. I would have no problems paying that either, but my wife would KILL ME!!! Hahha.

In 1 year I have only seen it for sale two times here in Hawaii and the price was $59.00. I have Angelicus ,petricola, multi, decorous ,euruptus, but Angelicus is still my favorite syno. Still wanting one with darker black and nice white dots but it's so hard to find when I have only seen it twice with only 3 to choose from (does anyone know if the more robust ones are female? All the Angelicus I have kept before seems to lose their dark color as they get bigger and older is that common?
