My new tank (first real MONSTER)

It looks nice man and glad it's holding, can't wait to see it w/ fish...

Me either. hopefully soon. I have to get with the glass co. this friday and see about a top being made. I have thrown out the idea of putting a VERY light layer of PF sand in there. two reasons

1. something for the rays.
2. it will somewhat cover the bottom b/c it's not one piece. and I dont' like the look of it.

Hit a small snag....... The stand pipes leak. I think I need to replace the seals in them. I know I should have done it BEFORE lol but I didn't. I will look into new seal tomorrow I hope. I am not going to drain the tank though. It will stay with water in it b/c I dan't want to waste the 25 buck it's going to cost me to refill the tank b/c something this small.

Oh well it was my bad and I'm to tired to do anything about it tonight..... Till tomorrow.

LOL I would but I don't drink and I don't think fish would like the beer to much.




Update:
I am going to try and get a new set of seals for the stand pipes friday or saturday. And reseal all of the connections leading to the sump. Just in case I missed something. I am also going to the glass shop friday to look into what it will cost to have a nice glass top built for this tank. My only problem is with the size of the tank and the shape I need to figure out how to make a template of the top and take loads of pics and measurements so they get it right and can tell me about how thick if must be to not sag. I was going to use cardboard to make the temp. but I can't find any pieces big enough. I'll find something at work tomorrow if I get lucky.

I did some more work to the tank today. I reworked the selas on the stand pipes. And resealed the joints leading to the sump. I got new rubber washers for the stand pipse. Which I think was the problem in the first place. So now I put about 6 gold fish in the tank. I will let them slowly cylce the tank.

I still need to build my spraybars. and get my top and heaters. I did not make it to the glass shop yesterday like I thought I would. I ended up getting stuck in Toledo buying a nice bicher. So the glass shop was closed by the time I made it there.

I need to fine out how to get the overflow noise down It is really loud right now. and I am NOT fond of it.

Oh well. I am geting up in the morning and going back to ace to get the stuff I need to make my spraybars. I didn't get it tonight b/c I forgot what sice fitting I needed for the pumps. But I will get up and get that done before I leave the house to when I get home I can hopefuly get it done before I have to go to bed b/c I start 1st shift this week.

Should have something more tomorrow.
