bro this is great we have aquarium adventure out here in long island ny they are great people good luck
I really don't like some of the people that work at AA. Some of the sales associates are really nice, knowledgeable people, but some hardly know what they're doing and some just aren't very nice people, but they are in the minority, thankfully. I was there a couple months ago and I pulled one guy aside to ask him one simple question: there was a tank labeled as having a baby giraffe cat that only cost $15, but I didn't see it, so I asked if he knew whether they sold it or it was just hiding. He said something like "I don't know, we might have sold it" in a very rude angry tone and rushed off. I don't think he even really listened to what I asked. On Monday though, the guy that got me my fish was really cool.

Sweet pick up. I really wished I had the $300 for the old reef display tank they were selling, but even if I did, I don't have a clue where I would put it. lol
That thing is going to be sweet when it's all set up.

I think rays would be awesome. That was my plan in the back of my head when I saw the old open-topped reef display for sale. Sand bottom, a few rays, my big SA knife, a couple big peaceful cichlids, some eartheater, some big characins, arowana-basically big Amazon tank...but that's just me ;)

Koop171,
Please use good eye protection when you try to drill the tempered glass sides on that 55...it's going to fall into a million tiny pieces and there might be flying chips...~Zennz

You know I will. I decied to try it out the bits only cost me $11 so i figured that I might as well try it. But I got a pair of the crappy safty glasses that fit like goggles. lol

I know what you're talking about some people are not so nice sometimes but if you really want something you got to make them check the tank. Think of it this way the dude could be having a bad day but it's still his job to help you out. give them the benifit of the dought till they do something blatantly cruel.

I was thinking about the other tank too when I saw it but I didn't want to reseal it. The seals looked horrible. And looked like to much work for me. But yeah it's a sweet tank

I love that tank!

Great pick up!

I would do a trio of marble motoros and an armatus!!!

I have been throwing this idea around in my head for a few days now. About the armatus.

A motoro is I think a must now. but i need to do more looking into how the armatus cohabs with other fish. I might be getting a 180 from a buddy soon and if. I do i'll have either a nice growout tank or another tank for something VERY VERY mean. lol

that tank is awesome
and its a great thing you have loads of place to keep those monsters

Go with armatus. From personal experience they are the best fish around! Mine had that super agro finger chasin, gill flarin, teeth flashing attitude as a cichlid but ok with many tank mates (rays, large dats, cats, ect). Get one and you WILL NOT be dissapointed~!

Youre in Columbus right?! Well my old armatus now lives there, maybe the current owner will let you check him out. :naughty:

I'm not in columbus i'm about an hour from there but that's where I go to do most of my fish shopping. How big was your armatus when you got rid of him?

zennzzo, the first fish you posted is a pick of a hydrolycus tatuaia, the second is a young H. armatus about 15" in length, so yeah, we are talking about the second one.
