Do yourself a favor and get better food NLS cichlid formula. It is one of the top foods out there and will give you some of the best color and keep your fish healthier then almost anything else and it is hormone free! Hikari does have hormones in it. But everything looks great keep up the good work

Im honestly prety happy with Hikari and the fish love it, that being said i have been wanting to try NLS but the price of it means it will never be a long term part of their diet.
Thanks for the comments mate.

Here are a few pics of the tank with its blue light on, looks pretty cool.

I will try and get some clear closeups of the fish tomorrow but it aint easy with this crappy cam.

Tank looks great , thing is you will have problems soon with this stock list. The first three on your list (fossies, c. moori's and borleyi's) will prolly need a 6' tank as they get large too large for a 42" footprint. The dolphins are slow growers so you have time with them but those kadangos get to 9"-10" in a year or so and will be cramped in that tank as they like to peruse their surroundings.

We keep bumblebees and they need room to stretch their legs or they get an attitude.

You might need to rehome some of these guys in the future.

Agreed. The fish will get too big. But you can find 5lb buckets of nls for $50. Way cheaper than hikari. Nice track though.

Thanks for the comments,

yeah i know i will need another tank in the future but im hoping to keep them in this one for as long as possible as the new tank, filter, lighting etc set me back a heap of cash.

Nice tank with pretty fish, especially like your Bumblebee there! I've got some too. :D And Perentie, these guys are always thinking that pple aren't going to get the bigger tanks as needed, for when the fish have grown a lot more. They are a real damper when you want to show off a new tank or a new fish,... and all they do is tell the person "you realize, don't you, that those fish are going to grow, and they will need a 200gl min. size tank, when they are fully grown". I really wish they would comment on the decore of tank, the coloring of your healthy looking fish, etc! I really like the way your white bottom looks when the lights are down, looks really cool! And your stand looks awesome, like it's built to last a few centuries! Did you buy or make your tank stand?
