My new tank setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would recommend using some dechlorinator because if you let it sit, then just chlorine will disappear not the chloramine (ammonia+chlorine) therefore you need some dechlorinator. Also you should aerate the water, with either so airstones or turn on the filters for some surface agitation. You also need to cycle your tank.....

Hi there,
you need to carry out these steps in order to get your tank running and before you can add any fish

1. First fill your tank up with normal tap water
2. Then you will have to buy some water conditioner and follow the instruction on your pack and add the correct amount of water conditioner depending on your size of the tank
3. Next you make sure that your tank's filtration and the heater are both running
4. Now you will have to keep adding the right amount of bacteria to your aquarium as it says on the pack for 7 consecutive days
5. Keep adding bacteria to your tank every week but reduce the amount of days you add the bacteria for ( for example in the first week you add bacteria to the tank for the whole 7 days, then in week two add bacteria for only 5 days and then in week 3 add bacteria for 3 days and in week 4 and so on you add keep adding bacteria for 3 consecutive days) you should do this for at least 1 - 2 months
6. Finally keeps testing your aquarium water every week and then it should be ready in around a week and then you can add fish

Remember BE PATIENT

Good luck
