My new Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
heres a lil update on my babis. they are doin great. krishna fits right in her and hare are inseparable, but she has started at least acknowledging ramas presence now. mostly because hare is always first to get his food and krishna and rama almost always share thier cubes or shrimp, they'll eat one and then go back for the other. krishna usually grabs it then rama follows her around pickin at whatever sticks outa her mouth. if he does go back for his own he usually "plays" with it too much and krishna will come by and get his and they start all over! they are loads of fun to watch!
Man has lil Rama grown! hes finally startin to color up too!

I forgot to mention, I am gettin a clown knife and albino cat this weekend! It is one o my many christmas gifts to myself!!!!

still tryin to consider whether or not to get a second jd. I see quite a few of you guys with more than one, so maybe i will give it a shot.

How big is yours and is it a female? Really it seems like every JD is different, but I've not been successful with keeping mature male JDs together. Maybe if I had left them together longer to sort it out, but it seemed cruel.

670 gallons?? youre lucky. im just curious, how much would that cost?

well, we r going to try a diy so not for sure. i have studied a lot of threads here on MFK to gain some intuition. at first i really liked the stock tank idea cuz it was cheap and fast, but with more thought ideciced i probly would get sick of only seein my preciouses from atop view. and once i get a good cam i,d certainly like to learn to take nicer pics and top view pics dont really turn out so great, imo.
we are gonna go the plywood and liner route with two front windows. not sure yet on exact dimensions, but it'll be something like at least 8' long 3' wide and as tall as i can probly like 4'. i have priced out the wood at around 650, i'm sure we could get away cheaper but i am wanting to use 4x4s for all the main braces of the frame. the panes will be around 250 depending if we go acrylic or glass, and more if i can convince hubby to go longer(not likely).

i haven't even begun to price pvc and such for diy filtration and then theres heating and lighting, substrate, chemicals, more test kits, and well end cost, not a clue~but i sure am excited. oh and i almost forgot silicone, which i am still unsure which kind to use. Oki, i think i'm done ranting for now, lol. i know i talk to much sry.
thanks for comments all, i love to hear from ya. even if its critism to, i'm pretty hard to offend, unless yor jus bein mean, thas not nice.

Well, I did some aquascaping. I like it much bettr, what do u think? I got the white marble rock, and some fake plants. the gold fish and minnows are little snacks i had been beefin up for these guys. they are doin pretty good with their first live food experience. rama jus luvs to "play" with them, but hare and krishna have both cought their fare share. i still have been given them each a cube once day, the goldies and minnows are just for fun, and snacking. they really have seemed to relax in this new set up now. and i think these new pics are gettin better, slowly i will get the hang of this!
