i just bought 2 2.5" texas cichlids both have really indented stomachs but ate like champs when i threw a bloodworm cube..so hopefully they pull thru and bulk up..heres some pics more to come


these two lil fellas or fellettes are my new addition to my breeding projects

They arent Texas cichlids. They are H. Carpintis.

nice pickup,look exactly like mine did at that size,he about 5" now and insists on turning black every time the camera comes out

I believe you have red texas, they usually have blue spots like that.

Huh? Both cyanos and carpintes have faded blue pearls like that when young. I'm not an expert, but the carpintes pearls are normally larger and texas are smaller. I would trust an expert that can id by these photos.

After looking at the pics, I think I have to agree with my BESTFRIEND fishingout and say they are carpintes as well.
