My new tig

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nope not feeding shrimp. Just cut fish and blood worms. It eats when it wants. I have a lot of food in there as it is with a ray and some black aro growouts. I have to bring the ray back to health as it was very skinny when I got it so feeding many small meals a day. The tig eats some throughout the day.

Good luck with him/her it's great to watch them grow and develop

Once they get to 12" they are as hard as nails

The trick is not to power feed as this is the mistake lots of new tig owners make as they are in a mad rush to get them out of a grow out tank and into the main tank

A health tig is a slim looking tig
They should only start to put on a lot of body mass bulk at 12"+

Thanks. I have a 125gal as a growout for it so no rush there. I am used to tsn and rtc, so this ones eating habits are way different. I spend a good 7years trying to get my hands on a healthy one. That whole time I was reading everything I could find on them(not as much as most other cats surprisingly)

Right now it is with a high spot motoro and 2 black aros. The 125gal is its tank until it needs a bigger. I have a 180gal and building a 360gal. Along with a 500gal.

Found out that a happy tig is purple while young and it is as purple as a juru...lol

Few more pics of it with a full belly of massivore and friend. They hang out together quite a bit.

They do great with rays no matter what others may say

The only problem I have is mine never has a tail streamer it grows back 1" then the rays chew it off the rays never chew whiskers or anything else

You should expect 1-1.5" growth per month even without power feeding

They are a great cat I have had mine for close to 7 years and sold it twice and brought it back

Best looking cat on the planet in my eyes

Cnel- thanks

T1- yeah I have heard many different opinions about the combo. My only concern is my bdxleo. It has tried to eat limas and o. Nigers before. Although it is currently with a 10" lima without issues. Lil different with the tig...lol

By the time my female out grows the tig she can be in with my male. I am looking at picking up a few more females to add to my tank now that my male is basically mature. Will be great once I have it all together.
