Luckily, I was able to get another little guy from Jeff! Just put him into the tank and grabbed this pic, excuse the glare as he wasn't happy with me close to the tank. I'm sure he'll color up a good bit once he settles in. About 4" here.

where the best colour Trimac from? and bet most trimac from different areas! are all mixed together in the hobby these days!
Judging from this thread, I think Rio Jeffe de Rappes seems to be the most brightly colored location variant.
Well, IMO I like them all! BUT.......... I have a different opinion then most. Most like the Rio Sarabia. At least they are more expensive here in Texas and harder to find. I have had both. The Rio Sarabia has more defined markings and color. So I get why people want them. And my F2 Female Rio Naranjo was kinda Ugly. BUT MY F1 Rio Naranjo......... I love him. He has NO markings. Got him from COTA. He is a metallic green with normally a rose colored throat. Unless he is pissed. Then its Fire engine red. I LOVE this guy. Currently he is about 8-9". I need to take a new picture of him. I just like the green of the Naranjo. Sarabia have more of a yellow color to them. I do however have F2 Naranjo/Sarabia fry that should be interesting. Half have markings and half don't. And they is visible at 1"! Big hopes.
Agreed on the different coloration between the two - Rio Naranjo has a more olive sheen and garnet/crimson red coloration, while the others are normally a brighter yellow with a pink type throat coloration.
It all depends on what you personally prefer. The great thing is they all have the amph personality, so you won't be bored watching them either way. Just pick your favorite coloration, and make sure you buy from a known good vendor, and you should be all set.
Also, this new guy is already coming up for food and finger chasing. My first one took several weeks before he was comfortable enough to do the same. Looks like he has a good amount more throat coloring at this size, too. Head shape/profile is different between the two for sure though.
