There's a difference in belittling someone and offering constructive criticism. To reference a line in one of my fav movies, try not to blame people for their mistakes, but encourage them to learn from them. I do agree that someone should learn just a tad more about water dragons before obtaining one, but at least some people are on here asking questions and learning as they go.
And it wouldn't hurt to brush up on your spelling skills either of you want people to take you more seriously.
