Very nice orino! Add an Oscar if you want one. My Oscar is a great tankmate for my bass.

thx bro..i'm hating my tank with the black background..my fl ocells hide in the black backing and their colors never show much anymore..i want to add some fish with color that will stand out..i just got new lightiing in the mail and tomorrow i'm starting the build on the custom light fixture..

your oscar getting along with your pbass? as far as aggression goes?

Yeah, he gets along great with my bass. They show no aggression towards each other. He is a tiger Oscar, and i really like the contrast of his red against the green, gold, and blue on my bass.

Maybe you need to just let them settle in more. I have kelberis, a mono, and an azul with a black background, and I think they look great with it. Your new lighting might help a lot too.

should i pass on the oscar?

and sooner or later i'll keep fish for along time lol

I was just joking around. Seriously though, some oscars are extremely aggressive, and some are not. It depends on the fish. I think most would agree however they are very messy fish. They blow food out their gills for who knows what reason, making a huge mess, and love to dig and uproot your scape. I got so mad at these fish once, years ago, that I threw a mated pair out into the yard for digging up my tank. Yeah, I dislike them. They are others who love them and their weird behavior. To each his own. :)

I love their goofy behavior, and I love how mine comes out of the water to eat from my fingers.

You are very right though - they are messy! Mine makes a mess out of Massivore. A lot of little pieces to come out of his gills.

I don't think your fish ever get time to really settle in before something changes with your tank, fish taken out, new fish brought in, etc. I would give it more time. Fish don't really like their surroundings constantly changing, it keeps the stress levels elevated. :)
