My ngt

Agreed ichiban, nice NGT ... I have to say they are my favorite dat, just love the color, but I struggle with dats ... I have found if I get them on pellets they grow quick and look beautiful and stay healthy ... if they stick to frozen, they grow very slowly and eventually die in a few years ... that being said I just picked up a small NGT 3 weeks ago, and so far he's proven the most stubborn yet ... I've starved him for 10 days, 2 times, and he didnt eat anything I tried, no pellets no krill, freeze dried or frozen, and on the 10th day I cave in and buy a few rosies and he devours them ... pain in the butt, but hopefully as he gets more comfortable he will cave in ... if I can get him on pellets I think he will live a long and healthy life and grow into a monster, its just getting dats to eat the damn pellets! Some have been easy for me, and others have been so stubborn and never break

well in your case small size ngt need to set up the tank like 30g with gravel in it , small driff wood with fake or live plant doesn"t matter as long is had big leaf for these to hide and a lot of air bubble , feeding with frozen blood worm , chop markets shrimp as first , after they are get fats and stable in tank , you can able to train them on pellets ,
First trick to get these on pellet is you need to get a indo already been eating pellets so they can see and lean from there , seconds put some hikari massivore sinking pellets in chop shrimp , they will eating it soon or later ,

Just want to show his growth rate.
When I first got him end of April was around 3.5"
Now it's close to 6"
I'm pretty happy with its growth rate.
One of my favorite ngt.

forgot say hi to tj forgive me been hide jack your thread . Nice deep gold ngt you got bro , hope somedate he will land in my tank haha

Didnt mean any disrespect OP, just putting in a tidbit from my NGT

Krich, agreed 10 days isnt very long, but considering he's 3 inches and was shipped then starved for 10 days, fed 3 rosies, then starved for another 10 my concern was stressing a too small fish too quickly by strarving longer, but I understand what your saying

Ichiban, almost everything you stated I have done, except trying smaller frozen like brine or mysis shrimp ... he's just gonna take time, I've just never had a dat not eat frozen krill at least after this long ... agreed another pellet eating dat would be good, but I have a pellet eating goldfish with him, which I hope will do the trick... just gonna take time

Ok sorry OP, I wont interrupt any more ... nice NGT by the way, very similar to mine, yours just has a bigger belly! :)

Hope mine would turn out like yours soon Jia...ok in 4-5 months. It was slamming a piece of raw shrimp last night...my first time witnessing it eat. the indo is less hideous than the ngt.

The other box never came...again thanks bro!

Still young once it gets adjusted it should be more outgoing.
Even my larger 9" are skittish.
