A baby nile monitor....how cool. We need more pics as he grows into a Monster.

Damn right!!! XD love this lil guy, males are ALOT harder to tame than females, they're tammable to an extent and as all wild animals they're never fully trustable.

Ill post pics and info on him as he grows (Dont even know if its a he, too young to tell)

Just thought Juggernaught would be an awesome name....when he'd big he WILL be a juggernaught lol. ordered a leash for him and the iguana's too XD

By comparison a Nile is tame, you want to deal with something nasty, get yourself a Croc or Lace Monitor.

That's not a suggestion, until you deal with the fury a Nile can put out I wouldn't suggest the other two...

I was looking at indian dwarf crocs but they require licences here and I don't know how to go about that lol my nile is enough for that :D

Very pretty little guy.

looks like an ornate nile.

my experience is to leave them relatively alone and allow them to approach you once their confidence level (which is usually linked with age) grows.

once that level of "trust" is established, then that's as close to being "tame" as you can get with these giants.

A mate of mine breeds them and I dont think its an ornate, could be wrong though.

Hes fine with me picking him up in a cupped hand but if I try with open fingers he doesnt exactly bite but he'll lick an act like a shy baby lol
