My not so micro micropeltes' and other fishies.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The unknown snakehead looks like channa striata. It would be nice when you upgrade the tanks to a larger size, would be good to see them.

bydaway, HOW u caught them? fisk hook? or fish net? im jst wondering & curious. As i know, they r a really good swimmer...You got them in the wild... it is a lake or what? haha, cant deny, they r really monster and looks preety & AWESOME...!!! Good Luck for yr finger... ! lol :)

looking at its color i can say that it is an adult, but the size of it looks like as if it is stunted:confused:Coz i have mine in 21 inch but I can say it is not yet an adult because it is still colored yellow:confused: ... I like the view its like a space craft convoying its mothership:headbang2
try giving them more variaty in their diet. I had a micro when it was small, fed it only chicken, did not loose the yellow until it was about 15 inch long. but i have caught micros less than a foot long in the wild which have lost all their yellow.

caught em with 8 inch catfish as bait. used blunt barbless hooks and did not set the hook when they took the bait... that way they dont really get pierced by the hook, the hook comes out when i release pressure on the rod. takes a lot of skill and practise to pull this trick off.. this way they are unharmed. they started eating less than a week after i caught them..
caught them in an abandoned fish farm.. micro's are eaten here.. so i kinda saved them i guess ;)

grml... very small tanks you have for such big fishes... :(
with all due respect sir, unless you are going to wire me 500USD for 2 200 gallon tanks, i suggest you put a sock in it.:D
just kidding.. will move them when i have the money for bigger tanks..

;)

but why you dont leave them in the pond for the meanwhile and take them after you have bought a bigger tank ? bad bad boy :(

if your talking about varied diet im upto it..coz i fed mine with all the stuffs i like ...blender it... and mix it with gelatin ..i even include vegetables and beans....i also feed it sardinellas, clams, dried shrimp, chicken heart, hikari floaters and assorted cichlid pellets....So do you mean that by having that the yellow coloration means it is malnutritioned?

the yellow coloration doesn't necessarily mean its malnutritoned. Basically he was saying that if you feed it a varied diet its adult colours would appear at a much earlier size than if you only fed the micro one type of food. :D
