My NTT died?!

I never knew this about NTT. No wonder they're worth so much at large sizes. I've got 4 more at that size. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.
What else is intank? What are water parameters?
Have u done anything I'm the last week that may have caused a spike? Like change substrate, or filter?
A friend of mine lost several thinbars recently with no apparant symptoms, and one of them was 12 inch, and stable.

Haven't checked the water parameters yet and nothing new to the tank. Only thing that was out of norm were the feeders I gave them on friday as a treat. Tankmates were 2 x 8" IT, 4 other NTT 4"-6", 1 x 4" NGT, 2 x 3" geos. and a 10-12" silver aro.
