if you want an oddball catfish, go for one off these: Mystus leucophasis
Asian Upside Down Catfish

They get to be 8 - 10 inches and I have mine with a ghost knife, several bichirs and a few others. Give him a good overhang of driftwood and he will chill upside down all day long.

If you want a catfish that will be visible dont get a raphael or suncat unless you want to turn over caves and ornaments every time you wanna show guest. Glass catfish were an excellent suggestion, upside down catfish also both like to shoal and our attention getters.

Iwouldnt trust a suncat ,too agg. but a raphael might work real nice ,AND THEY'RE COOL LOOKING and they come out enough to be seen ,at least at feeding time ,they will come out more, the longer you have them ,and they get comfortable

what about a feather-fin catfish? they are really nice to have. There is a problem with the rope fish though they will eat smaller fish if they can fit in its mouth same with a Bichir. I have a bichir that is a good 10 inches and it eats 10 goldfish easily. the eclipse catfish will grow huge to I've seen the a good 10 inches to. What about a african leaf fish?

for the love of god don't get an asian upsidedown catfish. they are known to be aggressive territorial fish and my LFS had one in there that was almost 20" long. they definately aren't a small catfish.
