My official goal in keeping polys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like everyone else are waiting for the pics lol. Notice you have several of some, if you are such an enthusiast, you thought about breeding projects?

I hope you reach your goal someday. You may have to save a while, but that'll make obtaining your goal all the more sweeter! :D

I have the same goal, but you are further ahead of me lol

bichir katangae has been synonymized with endli. congicus by Schafer in the Aqualog book. and you have both the guinea lap and the nigerian lap, right? even though they seem to be just regional variants, their patterns are very different.

and i've only seen bichir bichir in japan, so this one could be a very long wait (toyin doesn't yet have a lead on this), unless you buy from japan, but man their prices are INSANE!

i dont know, but i have three laps and they all look different as far as pattern goes

yeah its true that lapradei patterns do vary within a general framework. i just looked at your new pickups thread again. the two in there are the regular lapradei and from nigeria, since nigeria is the usual place where those kinds of laps are exported. i said 'regular' since they are the kinds that are in the original description of the subspecie P. bichir lapradei.

the 'guinea lapradei' show up much later in the hobby (toyin imported his first one about 2.5 yrs ago, and before that i've seen them mostly on japanese sites) and have very different patterns, but they are believed to be just a lapradei variant from guinea.

i can't remember what your third one looks like.

my 3rd and first lapradei i got is in the attached picture, can you tell if its a regular or guinea from the pic?
