Standard 55 gallon
Eheim 2180 filter with integrated 250 watt heater
Coralife 260w compact florescents
Co2 injection with diy inline reactor
3-4 inches of flourite substrate
The tank was doing really well until I had to leave home for college. After being away for weeks at a time, the tank just wasn't going to survive so I had to disassemble it.
For a while I was using bare bottom tanks because they were easy to clean but I really saw the benefits for the fish with live plants. For those who enjoy working on their tanks, adding live plants will add a whole new dimension that really is just as fun as keeping the fish.
