Good question, and I wonder if that was part of the cause. Pretty much the only thing he would eat was FD krill. When I got him he only ate fresh shrimp. My goal was to get him from these dried krill and onto pellets. He would eat about 6 massivore the entire time, and no other pellets. He would only occasionally eat a piece of tilapia and got to the point he wouldn't eat fresh shrimp.
I just wonder if the thiasimine finally was the cause of death? Anyone have an opinion on that?

You probably can't know for certain without an autopsy.Which of the foods you mentioned contains it?

Krill has a very high content. An article I read about a study on farmed trout were only fed krill. They grew very fast, but suddenly started dieing. They found them to be very low on whatever vitamin it is that it stops fish from absorbing. All shellfish have it, krill higher then most. I was reading the website of a food supplier to the aquaculture industry that sold krill in 50 kilo bags. They recommend only as a supplement but did not explain why.

Shrimp and krill makes up the bulk of my big dats diet and it is loaded with thiaminase I might as well be giving them feeder comets....guess its time to train them for pellets.

That was just a wild guess when I said that. I have no idea, but I want to blame something beside anything my wife could have done. :WHOA:
