wow thats bad you might just let her go since she is 8 years old she has lived a long life for an oscar just my opinion

A healthy Oscar could easily live almost twice that.
 
I've cleared up HITH just by feeding fish NLS and keeping the water clean. I know every case seems to be a little different, but that is the first thing I would do.

You name it i have tried it with the exception to injections and menodozle (sp) dip.
I use ro water for my o, feed NLS, vitamins, planted tank, over filteration, and 25% weekly w/c. The last time I did a water test my nitrates were at 5ppm. The was a week and a half w/o w/c.
