  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
actually you know what you do that, and get a refund for the pleco too, then sell your tank setup....

because clearly you know nothing about fish...:wall::lock:

Geez Bush, have a little mercy. Kid comes here asking for help and you flame 'em? Not cool.

Guy's he's a kid, least he's trying to find answers and we can all educate him...when i first started i didn't have the internet and nobody to really ask about fish keeping...it was a long hard road...

then you say something like, hey I got this oscar about a week ago and he is still hiding and laying on his side what is wrong. Not my oscar is a "b!tc|-|" and "i am calling the cheapo asian store up tomorrow since they're closed on wednesday to see if i can get a refund".

you ask for help, not post how a oscar is acting normally and that because he hasnt gotten used to his new home in a week he wants a refund because the fish is "broken"...

if you want help and advice ask for it and I will give it, I have kept kept oscars in the past so I am willing to share my experience but when I see a post like "fish isnt acting like it should, I am going to return it". I get a little mad...

I agree Bush, cut the kid some slack. We all learned one way or another.

and NO I am a Fish Nazi ha ha ha :D

like they said, hes in a new setup so thats what fish do. It also depends on the amount of traffic thier used to, my oscar constantly has ppl passing by, so hes used to it now, where as yours might not of, so when you do go to look at him at least initally, itll scare and stress him and cause them to hide untill hes used to it. Also, if your that concerned, you might want to try keeping all the lights off, or in this case observing it in the dark bc its in the shed, so the fish doesnt think your there, to see if he will act normal of which he will probably do in a few minutes if you do that, as my roomate had an oscar that would go to the bottom as soon as you entered the room and stay there, but as soon as those lights went off, it became active.

in the shed the windows have no blinds and i am going to put a black background on...
btw bushfishrox i know alot about smaller fish..
i have 85tanks in the garage.. well they're my dads and i..
like 10 breeding guppies..
and the rest are all breeding..
plus if your going to say something make it possitive ok..
it IS a growout tank...
GROWOUT!
he is going into a i think it is a 6 footer..
but cut down about 7inches from the top..
but thats when he settles.

Give it time. Eventually you'll have the Oscar eating out of your hands and he'll let you pet him.

Oscars have got to be one of the coolest fish in the world, even if they won't win a beauty contest.
