so I may have gone a little treat happy and got my oscars hooked on krill. I've noticed they are not eating any pellets at all, it was their main diet since I've had them (over a year). This is something new, they were eating pellets 2 weeks ago, that I remember actually watching them eat pellets. I cut of krill and they haven't done more than poke at a pellet. Its been 2 days and no eats. what is the proper way to go about this? Feed nothing but pellet or should I be offering some krill?

Feed quality pellets exclusively and they will begin to eat them again. Two days is not long at all. Be patient and don't give in. They will eat what you offer before they starve themselves. Then lay off the krill for a while.

Wouldn't try feeding anything for at least 3 more days then try the pellets

My oscars were the same with blood worms. Lay off the food in general for another day or two then give them pellets again. Oscars definitely are pigs and wont starve them selves

there are other fish in the tank I offer the food closest to the oscars they look and swim away leaving it for the others. Feeding the same jumbo carnisticks they have been eating. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being neglectful by not offering krill. They are 10 inches, they can afford the diet, they are normally feed well.

Ya start the starvation. They will switch over fast

little over 4 days now still not eating, the albino went for a pellet but seemed to spit out most of it, and the red doesnt want to hear it at all. Tank mates white spotted pike, and tiger shovelnose love the excess pellets, theyre definitely not complaining. i really wish they would eat something though!
