And then you will give in too early. They are not going to starve. Fish can go a lot longer without food than most people realize. In fact we often feed them too much. Give them a few more days and see what happens. If they still don't take the pellets, add the pellets to a mix of krill. Over time gradually reduce the amount of krill in the diet until they accept just the pellets. I honestly think that they will take the pellets if you give them more time though. But in the end you have to do what you're comfortable with. I believe that a staple diet of a nutritional pellet is the best way to keep healthy and long-lived cichlids. Feeding them only krill will be depriving them of the essential vitamins that are lacking in krill.is it really a big deal if they arent eating pellets? i know its more balanced diet but, they are not eating for over a week, my concern was that i dont feed enough krill to keep them fat. if they chose to only eat krill they are not truely starving. there are pellets offered everyday for other fish in the tank, i would feed krill about every 3rd day. i figure another day of this and i give in, if they chose to eat krill on a 3 day basis and snuff the pellet its their own choice, thats how my mom fed me, the food will sit in your plate until you eat it or everyone is done!
