yea my oscars jump all the time too.....my midas is doing it know too, that should be interesting.........

When I was about 7 my mom managed a pet shop. Thier was this one O that would jump out of the tank to catch flies right out of the air. I've been hooked ever since then. Mine have never cleared the tank but get some pretty nice air every now and then during a water change when the lid is off.
A couple of nights ago, I was opening the lid to feed my Oscar. The wifey was watching TV in the next room. She saw me jump a little bit and asked what's wrong. The Oscar made it up past his gills over the water line. That's the highest I've seen him go, and it scared me. Definitely wasn't expecting that.
man that is crazy! that fish really looks forward to feeding time! just like me! i always attack people that feed me!
mine does something worse. not scarier, just worse.
he come up to grab the pellet then when he gets a mouthful, he does the fastest 180 ive ever seen an animal do and splashes me with like a gallon of water. it's a real pain in the @$$ to clean up after too. i'llcome home and there's a pool of water under his tank.
