My other dream pleco: Parancistrus aurantiacus 'Xanto'!!!!!!!!!!

oddly enough, they can change back and forth between gold and grey, or have splotches of both colors on their body, but they often do not change back to gold when they turn grey.

i always remember them as a very sensitive pleco. :redface:

what you mentioned really set my mind at ease. :D

from what i understand they change their color according to the water condition. but even if you have a group of them not all of them will turn gold in the same water condition.

as for growth rate probably we need someone who is more experienced with them to let us know. this is only my 1st xanto.

yeah, from what ive read, these plecs are hardy, but their colors only turn gold when theyre happy with water conditions. as they are not captive bred, each will be used to slightly different water conditions.
