My overstocked 55 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those fish seem awfully happy for being overstocked. Are you planning on upgrading?

You want to see overstocked, you should see my 75 at the moment. 2 10" O's, 5" Festae, 8" Dempsey, 11" Pictus, 2 Convicts, 6" Butti, 6" Who knows what hybrid. **This is temporary, but they all hate each other right now and I'm starting to feel bad for them. The 220g needs to go up already.**

Does the Butti pick on the other fish? I saw a big Butti and a bigger Dovi living in a 100 plus gallon tank together. Dovi was dead in a couple of months.

I can't upgrade anytime soon (I'm a college junior living in a small apartment), I feel like my Oscar and Chocolate are fully grown, I've had them since babies and they have been that size for a while now. My only worry is that the severum will grow huge, if that's the case, I might have to rehome something.

Ty for the comments :)

I too have seen far worse.

Provided that mix doesn't tear each other up and you don't mind 3+ fin level water changers per week.. Live it up!

They are all pretty same tempered fish, and Oscar and Severum and chocolate might get slightly bigger and the acara doesn't get as big as rest of them. Should be alright the silver dollars will get way bigger still and could really affect bio load
