My overstocked 55 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 11 tanks going right now. No chance for me to keep it up without a python. My tanks are all in the living room, family room, kitchen, nook so there are sinks close by. After you get a python, you're going to wonder how you ever managed without one.

We have 5 tanks going right now, the largest at the moment is the 75g, then 55g and a 5.5, 4.5, 2.5 nano. The small tanks are easy peasy, the bigger ones just take time. We have it down to a science at this point.

I have a 200, 135, 125. I think a python is a game changer in this hobby. Even my gf is amaze at how easy and fast it is for us to clean everything. The previous post that mentioned the pump and tub got me thinking and wondering if you can use a canister filter with long tubing to pump the water in and out of the tanks.

I originally started my cichlid love with an oscar. They are slimy wet kids. Lol Mine was an albino red named coral. I loved her so much. And as much as I love tiger oscars, albinos will always have a piece of my heart.

The python is a game changer! I'd still love one even though my current set up works really well. It would just simplify things even more.

Ours are named OJ (after OJ Simpson because he's murderous scum and gets away with it) and Slim Shady because he's the OG Oscar in the tank. They're just a standard Tiger and a Red, but are beautiful and will rub up on your arms during cleaning time, and let you pet/hand feed them.

In the wild Oscars can get close to 4 pounds. It was common to eat them back in the day. Chocolates max out at about a foot but can get bigger.
I'm aware of that but fish rarely reach that size in aquariums, their genetics may also limit it I think

Wait, What? Oscars can get 20"
Not this again!! Please show me or tell me where you found this info, I have had Oscars in my 1000 gallon pond and peaked at 14 inches? I don't want to be rude but 20 inches, really?
I raised the issue we don't need an arguement or anything :)
