I fix a whole tank with over 20 fishes with ick and the all survied, You, just should be fooling youself!
don't tell other what you anit so sure about, if you have not done it your self! you can mind as well comitte to just killing his fish.... i've gone through that process before.

People like that shouldn't give suggestions that can get you favorite pets killed.

I have treat in temperture ranges around 70-80degress. YOur tempeture that you give.... will only add to your fishes stress.

first of all, i have treated ick with just high temps and salt and has worked beautifully

second, if you read the link you will see that it was very well written and has given credit to where each piece of information comes from presumably based on scientific evidence

third, use better english grammar and spelling, what you're saying isn't very clear at all

My sugestion is to Quaratine the fishes and do water 10-15percent water change everyday until it's gone it usually should take only 5-7days. Remember this Number One rule!

this will not get rid of ick although it will help, been there done that, i don't know where you're coming from saying that we're giving bad advice while you give a method that won't completely get rid of ick, high temps and salt is tried and true

Howdy,

everybody chill.

Redtail_Watcher, ich is not caused by the conditions you mentioned, but rather its outbreaks can be caused by that. The disease itself is caused by parasites. Besides that, I edited your post for rude language. MFK is a family-friendly, supportive website. Constructive criticism is welcome, destructive comments unappreciated.

Raising the temp of a tank is a good means to fight ich (see rallysman's post). The specific max temp, however, depends on the species kept in your tank. Addition of salt has been shown to support treatment.

Last but not least, this post is in the wrong forum. We have a special Fish Disease & Health forum, to which I will move it now.
