The thing with pacu is they actually have teeth, I had 3(10-11") and they ate one of my plecos to the bone when I was on vacation. Needless to say, I sold them all to the LFS.

yea guys i only got a 90 gal i am getting rid of the pacu now because i want anotther silver aro

I can't even begin to comprehend this post. Ridiculous. :screwy::screwy::screwy:

Don't even get another Aro, you don't have room for it. Stick to fish that do not outgrow a 90 gallon. A Pacu and Aro should of never been in a 90 gallon, and now both fish suffer cause of your stupidity.

o so i guess a 90 gal isnt big enough for a idk 4 inch silver aro for now might need at least 100000000000000000x more sorry guys i should read up because most 4 inch fish need atleast 2000000 gallons ................. might need info before u critise

btw if you guys say i shouldnt have pacu why dont you come get him then and keep it in YOUR tank...... thats what i thought

The trouble with 4 inch aros is that they grow in to 30 inch aros and 90 gal tanks stay 90 gal tanks.

I shudder to think what sort of lfs sells a pacu to someone with a 90 gal tank but this pales in to insignificance with someone who gets offended when people tell them that their 90 gal is not big enough for their aro....especially after they have just had one eaten by a fish totally inappropriate for their tank.

Stick to small fish or buy a big tank that you can house those fish for their (proper) life span.

isnt a pacu like a piranha or atleast a imitation of one.

just toby i aprrectiate your concern but i no that i need to upgrade to 180gal + i no that i need a bigger tank i no i no i no i bought the pacu at idk 3 inches

2 weeks ago i paid 50$ for a 10 inch silver aro and i went to feed them today and my pacu had my arowana in its mouth :(
Sometimes things such as this happen, not really the norm. It's not like you tried putting a little 3" aro with a 7" gar or something stupid such as that.

Your sarcasm does not hide the fact that you have done very little to no research regarding either of these two fish. Yes a 4" would do fine, problem is you can't keep the silver arowana four inches. You will need to have at least a 180g 6x2x2' within 6-9 months and then should have at least a 300g 8x3x2' within a year after that. Are you that committed to having an arowana or would this just be a passing phase?
