has struck again.
Lucifer, whom we previously called "Happy Fish", was caught eating "Dogfish", our Oscar, 2 nights ago. I had obviously made the mistake of thinking that since these two had been best buddies for over a year, this wouldn't happen with THEM.
Surprises me that I thought that way, as I know my particular naughty little pacu far better than that.
Fiance quickly moved the Oscar into a bucket, then into a spare tank we had laying around, while I began to contemplate what the best method of euthanasia would be. And, I'm usually the optimist of the house, so that should give you a bit of an idea about how poorly this little O looked at that moment.
Well, here we are, day 2, and "Dogfish" is still alive and seems to be doing quite well! Has figured out how to balance itself and swim (swimming all over the place today
), ate a few pellets last night, is getting excited upon seeing me at the tank again! I'm very excited over this development!
I imagine it has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that our 5yr old sits at the tank chanting "Fight, fight, fight for your life".
