Congrats! Convicts are pretty good parents and if the fry already hatched they won't eat them unless 1. You stress them too much and they figure it's not safe for the fry 2. They breed again in a few weeks and there's not enough space for the second batch... they will make room by eating the older fry.

You might lose a few tankmates depending on your tank size. Convicts become increasingly vicious when the eggs are laid, then when the eggs hatch, and even more when the fry leave the nest. If you have no tankmates, sometimes the male won't be allowed near the fry.

The pair are in my 55 gallon right now (in sig) and the only aggression ive seen so far is the male just chasing other fish away, it doesn't seem to get any worse than that.
- Hopefully everything should be okay.

Now i just need something to do with the fry

*update*
came home from work about 45 minutes ago and my girlfriend was here watching them and she pointed out that the male and female were moving them with there mouth over to a hole in my piece of driftwood!

- Is this normal?
