Remember to change your water frequently or use plenty of carbon, FBT are very toxic to many animals. Watch for "swimming with a spin" and other neurological problems. Also, the expanded metal, regardless or what it is(alumminum, galvanized steel, etc.), is toxic. I'd remove it. Perhaps use the black plastic screening that is used over rain gutters to keep birds and leaves out.
Fish that look good in paludariums tend to be surface oriented fish. African butterflies come to mind. When you feed the FBTs crickets, the butterflies will jump and grab crickets off over hanging vegetation.
thanx every one but its looks like the fbt might be going into a exotera set up if i get it cheap enough but i dont know what to put back in this i dont really want any more herps for the time being but im definitely not going to lose the set up i like it to much and crystalizedhairs the mesh is going to be removed asap and do you know a good place on-line that sells butterfly fish my local stores never have any and i would really like to have one
Sorry for the long wait(I don't check this forum regularly). Butterflies are fairly common fish. Your lfs can probably order them for you. If you have a Petco or Petsmart nearby, they can definitely get them for you. They even go on sale a Petco 4 or 5 times a year.
