Now that the weather is changing from sweltering to only really hot and humid, I am inclined to do some more hikes. The hike worked well as it didn't rain for a while before.
Here, during an afternoon thunderstorm, those hikes and little streams can turn into dangerous places to visit making for a treacherous hike back.
Some more shots of the jungle.

The small spring running out the side of the mountain
Even though it is a hike and a half with a few tricky spots, kids and elderly people manage it. The dog thought he'd died and gone to heaven.

In the riparian tank the kuhli loaches have been out and about and not skittish at all. Even placing my glass in front of the tank and taking sips doesn't seem to bother them. I read somewhere about giant kuhli loaches
(P. myersi) being more outgoing. I wonder if I don't have common kuhli's (
P. kuhlii) and giant kuhli's mixed as the new ones are noticeably larger.
They hang out in this corner a lot as the stream empties into the tank here and the food sinks down with the current.
