I feel sorrier for the normal Oscar types sitting in 30gal tanks dying slowly. Think about the fact that if these fish were instantly put in the place of the normal-bodied Oscars, they probably sell a little better (cuteness factor), live a little better (potentially smaller overall size) and discourage fewer fishkeepers (less outgrowing action = happier novices). I'm not saying it's right, just that it could be advantageous to the captive Oscar line and the hobby as a whole.
