Are you serious with the 28 inch aro in the 225 worry about your own tanks kid. You cant jump on the bandwagon talking about what size tanks people have i have 2 custom 24Lx18Wx12H tanks and a standard 55 running and empty minus the algea eaters i could put my 2 inch fish in. Do you have a tank bigger than 225 to put that huge aro in ?

? I dont get it hows it foot in mouth, its just a temp grow out tank, if you have alotta fish this is normal, I personally use 30 s as grow outs but keep more fish in em,

You are putting your foot in your mouth by being unreasonably hostile toward a legitimate concern.

Your post has absolutely nothing to do with mine. If you want to tell me there's something wrong with my tanks, feel free to pm me about it, but considering how my post clearly had nothing to do with what tank sizes are appropriate for what fish, it is just asinine to make jabs regarding that issue in response.

In my post, I was obviously referring to the fact that he is putting his BP in a position where it will likely be either killed or maimed, and he openly admits that he doesn't even care (and he seems to be proud of this, judging by the emoticon he chose to add...). Regardless of whether his tank size is appropriate, I'm not okay with his attitude regarding fish, and I would hope most of this site's members feel the same way. Now, when you see me keeping my arowana with a school of piranhas, THEN you can call me out on it.

Its not a legitimate concern when you dont know how many tanks i have. It was a illegitimate assumption, that you are making your self look very stupid trying to defend.

Now you are showing your age because the comments about my parrot were sarcastic staments to op. My egg laying fat lil parrot is fine. My post didnt have anything to do with you. And i can call you out now because most members of this board think a 225 is to small for a 28 inch aro

They obviously didn't come off as sarcastic, and the age comment is a total non sequitur. :screwy:

And since we're now apparently on the subject of arowanas, I wouldn't necessarily say most people believe that, judging by the number of people on here keeping them in 180 gallon tanks. While larger would be much better, a 6x2 footprint provides enough space for an arowana up to almost 36" to live relatively comfortably (they are not built like most other fish, therefore they should not be treated as other fish in this regard). The main issue that makes people say that a larger tank is needed (and when I say "people," I mean people who actually have kept them in smaller tanks and thus are speaking from experience) is that in larger tanks, they don't jump as often and do not tend to injure themselves as they sometimes do in smaller tanks. I have experienced this issue a few times, but my arowana has actually calmed down significantly in the last few months, so it hasn't been a problem at all lately. So, of course I wouldn't recommend my tank size to someone looking to buy an arowana, and I would upgrade if such a thing were possible in my current situation, but right now, there are no problems with my stock, and I don't need you to call me out on things which, as far as I can tell, you probably know little to nothing about.

Man i tried to kill this thread by posting new pics but you just wont stop. I dont know anything my largest fish is 16 inches my largest tank is 8x2x2 with 4x4 and 6x3 coming next. You think a 2 inch cichlid is a concern in a 10 gallon yet a fish that almost 3 feet long is ok in a tank 2 feet wide, shows how much you know. Im done with this post hope you are to.

I have said nothing about your tank size, so I am not even going to comment on that. And of course I am going to respond when you direct a post at me; this is how a forum works.
