Thank you everybody and yea they are pretty much just for show. I suppose you could eat them but I never would...far too beautiful. And wizzin I went to pick up some goldens just a few weeks back but my supplier was out :( . They are beautiful I love them! I will try to get pictures today although alot of my birds right now are in juvinile plumage still. My male reeves is starting to get some stripes though...

can these guys grow in the wild if you let some go. My dad lives in montana and there's lots of ring necks but nothing as beautiful as yours.

yeah, right after I saw this thread I went to the murray mcmurray site and they're sold out of goldens. Always wanted to try to breed them. You know, some people would pay a fair price for feathers from your birds. Even drops or pluck a few. Reeves have good fly feathers too. Post more pics sometime. I'd love to see more. Always loved pheasants...

my girl keeps these. she has like 20 around her house in huge cages. nice lil birds.

nice pic everyone.

Very nice bird, pheasants (male's) must be some of the most beautiful birds in the world. Cant beat Temminck's Tragopan when in full display:)

Cool! Is the japanese green you talk about the green-ish morph of the ringnecks?
