my piggy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i want one too but i would never consider paying the amount of money people are asking for one of them

Can you keep most fish with those? How big do they get? What min size tank would you need with them? Do they need some kind of dry spots to, for lack of better words, "hang-out"?
inquiring minds want to know.

maximum frt size in the wild is 22" 50 lbs, i have seen people keep them with lots of different fish but no other turtles unless you have alot (600-700 gallons per turtle or more) of space and alot of hiding places they are especially mean towards thier own kind breeders usually dont keep a breeding pair together full time males have been known to kill females

and average price is usually$400-$500, why wouldnt you buy one know before they are completely illegal which they probally will be in the US eventually unless you already own legal ones then they cant take them away

FRTS are the only true aquatic freshwater turtles they do not need basking spots but do need a sand "beach" for laying eggs if they were to breed

i cant stop starring at them . the way they swim around the tank is just amazing. they are trying to take over my BICHIR's hiding spot. they sleep behind the driftwood because its in the shade. but swims constantly around the tank when i am in front. looks like a sea turtle, swimming around with them fliipers. 1 is named PIGLET and the other FLIPPER. :mwave:
now all i need to find is a RED ARROWANNA and A CROSSBACK ARROWANNA, then my collection will be complete. any one got 1 for sale. i know they have them in CALIFORNIA and NYC. :grinyes:
