I have ordered a 50x21x24 tall tank and am planning the stock. i have a thread in the general but i think i might get a better response rate here

I was planning on kepping the following.......

a pair of Rotkiel Severum.
a single red tiger oscar.
then some bottom feeders, probably some of the larger synodontis species.
and i am due to inherit a pair of silver dollars (i read they make good dither fish)
i would love a EBJD too

ANy thoughts on stocking levels?
Any thoughts on compatability?

EBJD would get eaten by the oscar. Not bullied around... eaten. Oscars grow entirely too fast, and EBJDs grow entirely too slow. As soon as the Oscar gets big enough to eat the EBJD, rest assured he will

And how am I doing for numbers? The tank will hold about 110 gal (uk) so that's my like 130 US......... I think. These figures allow for a 90% fill

That's a 110 in us gallons. I agree with the others. Scratch ebjd. An only 50 inche tank seemed smal to me for an oscar but with 21 inches of depth you shouldn't have a problem. Don't forget to post the pics when it all goes together. And put them in your album, a lot of people don't use ther album. I always click profiles to see albums and am disapointed often. Good luck.

I don't know what you mean about numbers and 90 percent fill so sorry for the lack of response. I hope your not refering to any size per gallon rule.

The two silver dollars will really make the tank come alive but might make it feel a little crowded. You will just have to see.

i think he was referring to how you can only really fill a tank 90% after adding all sand and deco, it doesnt have as much water as it technically can hold, n yeah i think all of those fish should get along well you should have too many issues with aggression unless the rotkeil pair is spawning but they still shouldnt be too rough for the O
