Very good and neat one, what kind of fish would you put there?

No fish...yet. Actually thinking of keeping it as simple as possible to the point where I don't need to do weekly water changes. So maybe I'm going to go with some RCS because I hear the bioload is close to nothing.

loookin good.. What kind of light did you retrofit in there? You can just upgrade the lights to LED's.. They seem to work pretty well.

I got a socket from a reptile fixture, but with the ceramic cover, it's a really tight fit. Might just go to Home Depot and get a porcelain socket. I've been looking for some MR11 LEDs, but only find MR16 LEDs which don't fit into the sockets. And I'd rather go out and find some to actually take a closer look at them then blindly buy them online.

Looks great nice little aquascape.
1 comment if you don't mid, the elodea In the back corner could be chopped and replanted it takes a lot of depth from the tank being bent at the top like that.

I actually took out the Anacharis and replaced it with the Stargrass.

nice! RCS sounds like a good idea, they would be sealed in their own little world in that tank lol.

Nice! How do you re-arrange things when the top is so small? :)

The top opening isn't that small. It's big enough to get your arm in there. Have to drain the tank a bit so it doesn't overflow, but that's the only hassle.

Awww:( I asked the guy at the shop too.:irked: Guess this tank will be evolving until I can get it right.

LOL that's how it goes! And to be honest, that plant gave me trouble in my tank with co2, ferts, and high light. Sometime I would get algae on it. It's a gorgeous plant when given the right conditions though.

For a low light setup like yours, stick with crypts, anubias, java ferns, mosses, etc. And add some Flourish Excel too, it will help the plants. I have a little 3g that is stuffed FULL of low light plants. I do nothing but add a squirt of Excel everyday. Rarely do water changes too, just top it off.

I love the tank Ben! I was really tempted to start up an edge with LED's and supplemental flourescent desk lamp above the top, it's just the $99 price tag holding me back lol I could get a used 40g with stand for that :D

I was thinking of using zebra rock in my setup too lol gotta change my ideas around now :)

What if he swapped it with Myriophyllum mattogrossense? It's been doing well in my 60g under normal t5, no ferts, no co2.

I've got a couple small stems to start you off with Ben. I should be in L.A. this sunday at Tongs if you're want to meet up.
