my planted tank

If you think that is amazing, you should see some of these tanks people are putting out that have no electrical lighting, nor co2 or ferts. They are running a completely natural system. Using sunlight for growth, and a balanced stock of fish to plants to fertilize and supply co2.

looks great!

quite easy actually. those plants are some of the hardiest and easiest to grow. With little to no surface agitation the co2 is trapped from fish using the oxygen. I don't use it on my tank most of the time. I have seen some amazing planted tanks with absolutly no filtration at all. They just balance the filtering capabilities of the plants with the right fish. Just like a pond or lake. when I do use co2 for a boost I use a jug with tubing running to the tank and I just add warm water, sugar, and yeast. It takes about two days to start working properly and last for about 2 weeks. Cheap as schnit and works awesome. even with HOB filters. Just run the tubing by the intake so when co2 bubbles out it is sucked into impeller and disolved into water.

I personally think that some of the tanks out there that use the balancing method, and using natural sunlight are amazing. Would love to have that setup, but in this area.... well we are lucky to see the sun for 4-5 months during the winter.

Gorgeous set-up. How you can manage that without CO2 injections is completely beyond me.

it's really not that hard as said before it just about balance the tank has twice as much filtering as it needs and there is actally quite alot of surface agitation i find it helps on very low tech tanks.

thank you all for you coments i havent been on here in a long time so it took a while for me to reply! ;)
