My Planted Tanks

what kind of tanks do you have your sarrasalmus species in?

I was thinking of adopting my friends elongatus but I don't think I'd care much for a single fish in a tank I had a red devil before that was super aggresive it killed many oscars and piranhas larger than it's self... then I gave it away because it would uglify my tank pushing gravel around and what not.

well my new unidentified piranha is in the 46 gallon planted and all the rest are in lightly planted tanks, nothing too special about those, they all have some driftwood as well.

my two macs are in the same tank and my 8 pygos are in the same tank, everybody else has one to themselves

yeah, i'll probably add a couple more caribes and some terns once i get them into a bigger tank. i would like to keep a solo piraya

a solo shoal of piraya would be rather expensive.

raising red bellies and small cariba seems ideal to me. red bellies = 6$ for 1" and 10$ for 2-3" likely 4/8 in bulk.

I wonder what sort of rate cariba and terns attack red bellies when trying to get them to shoal together. I read warnings on a couple online piranha distributers about mixing them.

pygos can be mixed pretty easily if you know what you're doing, there are just a few precautions to take, it can end very badly if you just dump new fish in
