Oscar Tummy
So I target feed them each night with a pipe until their enthusiasm fades, and that's usually a palm-full of pellets, pill bugs, etc. They are plenty full at bedtime. Nevertheless, I've noticed a disturbing lack of Oscar turds since I moved the trio into this tank. Should I feed their bloated bellies even more? I know they are more tolerant of nitrates as a species. Is this why? For poop digestion?

*is slightly confused*

Is it because Oscars have a quick digestive process? I mean , maybe if Oscars digestive process moves quickly, much of the nutrients and food remains intact after digestion. Then there would be some edible food for other fish to find in their feces. I don't know the digestive workings of Oscars so this is just a guess. But I know this is the case with other fish and animals that find food in fecal matter.

Don't talk about it too much or Petcos will start selling them as "Janitor Fish" and telling people you don't need water changes

My mascara barbs will clean up after my plecos in this fashion. I have had these barbs for six years and they are all fine and breed and everything,. I would not even give it a secound thought. Ever see labeo fish follow hippos. They live off of their dung.
